Stinking kitchen drain!

Hi all
We have a kitchen sink with middle drainer which seems to always smell. I have recently had all the pipework out and washed it all out and reassembled it only for it to come back in under two weeks. In addition I have tried bleach, soda crystal and various sink products. Is there anybody out there with any other ideas as I have run out of them. Many thanks in anticipation of a solution.

I had a problem with my sink and no amount of bleach or soda crystals helped. I poured a bottle of vinegar down the sink and left it over night and the smell AAC gone in the morning and has not come back.

Any chance it's something accumulating in the plug/filter?

My kitchen sink has a metal plug/filter that lets water through but catches food bits etc. If you remove it it can look clean on both sides, but removing the metal part from the rubber seal it sits on reveals grime that collects between the two. Not sure if that's enough to make a serious smell though.

Is the pipework from the middle drainer definitely fitted above a u bend? If fitted below, it could be letting smells come up from the pipework further on.

Also, that sort of arrangement sometimes uses a ribbed flexible hose which is a devil to clean and keep clean.
