Expire License
Unluckyreally
My license has been expires since March, never got round to renewing it as the car has been declared SORN because I get lifts to work.
Now, having lost the job and driving being my main method of getting to work I'll need a license
Does it mater to anyone that there was a gap of a few months between expiration and renewel??
Tax was kept up to take because I never knew when I might need it but thought, if I'm not driving why update it?
Any advice?
Thanks guys, and girls.

If you mean the photocard has expired then strictly speaking you shou,d have renewed it after 10 years whether you were driving or not (or surrendered your licence altogether if you didn't want to pay the £20 to update it). However in practice many, many people renew their photocards late and approximately none of them get into trouble for it. Just fill in the form and send it off and you'll have nothing to worry about.0

What does keeping up with the tax have to do with your licence?
I know people who are still driving around with an expired licence, and they're aware of it!
Just renew it, you won't get into trouble.0 -
If your car was SORN then the tax can't be up to date, when sorning the disc needs to be returned to the DVLA.0

A very confusing first post.
So many ambiguities that I just don't understand what is going on.0 -
I think the tax has expired. Although they should have returned it when they SORN'd it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
