Where shall we go though? Out of the frying pan into the fire?

I'm moving to First Utility. Yes I've heard some terrible things, but I've also heard some good stuff - I keep telling myself their customer service can't be worse than SP's, but you just never know. But it's a risk I am willing to take!

If I didn't get swept up in the fixing frenzy around September 2013, I could have let the last fix finish, and gone over to OVO in January 2014. Still, it's not actually bad if you don't try to leave. It's like being inside the eye of the storm. Trying to reduce the account surplus before making a break for it.

I left and went to OVO, roughly 20% cheaper. A no brainer really.

SP happy to rip you off, provide atrocious customer service and call waiting times and then the moment you arrange the switch they magically have staff ready to phone you up and "beg" you to stay with them!

Why not offer me a deal whilst I was with you? Of course not, we'll just happily rip you off if thats OK, which it is for most people.

It's a shame there aren't other companies you could move to really.

    Oh, wait...

    Whom would you suggest?

Scottish Power (my old supplier) are causing me problems at the moment as well.
First Utility (my current supplier) don't reply
EDF messed up my house move
British Gas - Used to be a my supplier and make SP look good
NPower - Get a whole watchdog episode devoted to them!

BG and edf have been absolutely fine in my experience, e.on have few complaints on here and reps that seem helpful, and OVO have been great since I joined them.
