The only thing I can think of where the OP may have some trouble is whether they had told Albany/ Helphire that the MIB were dealing and therefore have prevented the hire co from being able to get their claim in time to the MIB?
I was reading a report that implied that they had... http://www.lawgazette.co.uk/law/admiral-to-emerge-unscathed-from-fee-ban/5037232.article
I agree that it is the only ropy area hence asking if they fulfilled their obligations to HelpHire in keeping them informed of what was happening - ie the TP turned out to be uninsured and the MIB were handling the claim0 -
i would wait now for Helphire to provide SIGNED copies of the rental agreement to see if they are enforceable or not (whether they have cancellation rights).0

nope, only PI referral fees are banned, which is a farce as insurers are just in bed with law firms now under ABS regulations and for independent law firms there are "marketing fees"InsideInsurance wrote: »I was reading a report that implied that they had... http://www.lawgazette.co.uk/law/admiral-to-emerge-unscathed-from-fee-ban/5037232.article

With most rules there are ways around them. The private sector will always have more money to spend to analyse the exact letter of the law and get people to devise ways around than the government will have to spend on the same people to create watertight legislation.
Its no difference to the recent press of HMRC hiring the big 4 consultants to help it create tax law and those same consultants then charging big businesses a lot more to help them mitigate their tax liabilities under the new laws that they themselves had effectively wrote.
Of cause I'm not complaining, it keeps me in a job0
