Can I get out of paying charges for credit card statements?

Hi- I need to request my barclaycard statements back to 2011 (online, they only go as far back as July 2013). It's £2 per statement- I just wondered of anyone had any experience of arguing the toss to get out of paying it?
Thanks
Thanks

you can do a sar, im sure the max cost is £10, they should send you everything going back 6 years, I do stand to be corrected though0

make or threaten to make a date access request for all the info they hold on you including all statements .. cost £100 -
A SAR might work, but bear in mind they just have to provide the data, they don't have to give it you in a nice format, so if you actually need the statements you can't be sure that's what you'd get.0

Can I ask what a SAR is?0

Subject Access Request - as mandated by the Data Protection Act. As they have already provided you with the statements, their charge of £2 is pretty darn reasonable. If you go the SAR route it may be unreadable, as this may not provide the same details as the statement did.0

Because of the SAR request most companies max out the costs at £10.
I friend asked for some statements from their bank and they were £3 each up to a maximum of £10 once you ask for more than 3 sets.
Depending on what you need them for a SAR request may be suitable or not. It will contain all the data but wont be formatted as nicely, wont be on headed paper etc0
