So the meter is a single rate one. Then you need to ask FU what meter they have logged on their system. Note the meter S/N and ensure it matches their records.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I would do that if they would only reply to my emails.

This seems to be the biggest complaint about FU. If everything is smooth then there isn't a reason to complain, but when things aren't right the poop hits the fan and you are left with little contact and a feeling of desertion.

You're going to need to ask yourself, with these issues at this early stage is going ahead with FU the best choice?

You will need to get your meter register sorted out either way though.

Yes, I starting to think that way myself.

Regarding the meter, when I originally moved to NPower they changed it to a single tariff with no problems, so I assume that most companies would do the same but then have a pleasant surprise when they came and found it is a single tariff and not Economy 7.

    Hi

We have had massive problems changing to first utility.

We moved to our flat back in the end of oct 2013. We applied to change from SSE to first utility. We had our email 19th nov saying it will take 30 days to change.

Our electric changed straight away, and we started our direct debit for both gas and electric in December. But still to this day our gas has still not changed.

We are having such a nightmare. We are emailing and phoning at least twice a week to see what's going on.

To top it off, SSE had first utility's 1st proposal to change our gas 28th April this year!! And we are paying first utility for gas, and we have been paying reminders from SSE. We have started procedures with ofgem now as first utility are utterly C**P with communicating but great at lying!!!
