Credit Help

Options
as soon as my wife (separated not divorced yet) moved her boyfriend in to our marital home and then promptly got pregnant by him I stopped paying the mortgage.

She said that she would come up with a plan to pay the mortgage that is in both of our names. She claims to have submitted a payment solution to the provider months ago. But the letters from the provider and their solicitors kept coming. And now I have a court date in August.

Yes I admit that I am jointly liable for the mortgage but given that she said that she would submit a solution is there any way to get my credit file to a somewhat reasonable state?

Thanks for any advice

  • Not if the mortgage is in joint names, no. Not paying, while understandable, wasn't the smartest move. I'd contact the lender myself and try to come to an agreement with them.
