Buying in N.Ireland

Some advice needed or pointers in the right direction please
Hubby is looking at returning to N.Ireland, around the Richill, Portadown area in particular but anywhere close to Armagh city with bus links

Looking at a few estate agents websites Ive noticed that they use "offers around" pricing. How realistic are these? Are there any websites I can look at that give an idea of what prices properties are fetching? Also does anyone know what the average council tax on a 3 bedroom detached in these areas is?

Many thanks

    Hi,
Try https://www.propertynews.com it is basically the main website to look for houses in Northern Ireland. When we were buying our house we basically paid slightly above the asking price, but that was due to another couple being interested in it. I would think with houses in Northern Ireland it really depends on the demand for that particular house.

There is no council tax in Northern Ireland. We pay something called Rates which varies depending on what you are living in and where it is. If you look on the Northern Ireland board you'll find a couple of threads about it.
    Good Luck!
