RE : Help for my mum....IVA arrangement but the debt is likely to include PPI.....

Hi - Hoping someone can help me with this. My mum has got £40k of debt with natwest - a few years ago, through the help of citizens advice, she negotiated an IVA where she pays a mimimal amount towards the debt every month. She is ok with the current situation & doesn't plan to change anything as she can just about afford to make the payments. I believe that a lot of the debt accrued against my mum will be made up of PPI insurance.....I don't know how much but I dont want to start investigating this for her and open up a whole load of issues - she doesnt want contact from the bank as it scares her - so I don't know what to do. Has anyone got any experience with a similar situation? I am going to need some good advice on this one as I will need to give my mum a good reason to get in contact with them....thankyou.:A:o

You (or your Mother) needs to contact the IVA company she is using. Certainly, even if she successfully complains, no money will come to her personally-but it may shorten her IVA.
    Post on the IVA forum.

Do not use a company. And again, in case....DO NOT use a company.

There shouldn't be a problem with complaining, but the redress , if there is any, will probably go towards her debt.
IVA redress isn't set in stone though, so some companies may refund her.

She'd only possibly receive a refund personally if the IVA was completed.
