Startup business grants

I've been searching the web and it seems that you can only get a grant for a startup if you are on benefits / unemployed.

Are there any available for working people under 30 that are looking to leave a job to set up a business?

    Welcome.

    Vanishingly few grants out there.

How much do you think you need? What can you contribute yourself?

If you care to say what your business would be, we might be able to suggest ways of doing it cheaper, but as well as that the advice would be to save furiously, and see if family and friends would like to invest.

I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.

Pretty much no. Businesses are supposed to make money, not need support, so grants are significantly less common than loans.
