cp plus fine

Hi I was wondering if you could help me.
I got a fine in Scotland from CP plus. Usual stuff, stayed longer than 2 hours. However, I actually parked my car and I was picked up by a friend. All the things I've read so far say to ignore the fake PCN but am I liable to get taken to court because I may be on camera leaving my vehicle?
In addition to my defense, I should state that I entered at 2 am and I left just after 5 am. None of the facilities were even open and the car park was empty.
Should I ignore it or write to them and state my defense?
Thanks in advance,
Shopgirl1985

It is not a fine and you have no defence against them. Cameras mean nothing in the context of private parking and precious-little even in legit enforcement.
You need to read the Newbies Sticky which has Scotland-specific sections. Which are short and sweet - IGNORE strictly, except on the offchance you actually do get properly issued court papers - which is beyond unlikely and we have not seen any here in years!0 -
I may be on camera leaving my vehicle?
One of the dangers of a TV diet of too many American films. :rotfl:
Just ignore everything, including a string of 'threatograms' from CP Plus and eventually their hired Debt Collectors!
For any NEWBIES reading this thread 'ignore' applies to Scotland (and NI) not to England or Wales. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

...my defense?
'Dundee Courier private parking'.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No keeper liability in Scotland. They can only go for the driver - and they don't who that is unless you tell them. Just follow what Umkomaas has advised.0
