Credit card chargeback on multiple paypments/error in USA?

I ordered some items from a company called Biotrust nutrition on Friday night via my iphone. I have ordered from them before they are based in the USA. The items should have came to around 150 dollars but after I put the payment information in the reciept came up and there were 5 more items on it than I had ordered at a total of 500 dollars!!! So immediately I emailed the support team at biotrust and recieved a reply this morning, Sunday, that the order was being processed and they could not cancel it but I could send it back tracked at my own expense to get a refund! . I have phoned the bank of scotland who said they will help but the transaction is not completed yet so have to phone back in the week. He also told me there were 5 transactions when there should have been only one. I think the company are being unreasonable as the items are not yet dispatched and I dont see why I should have to send them back at my expense. Should I refuse to sign for them? Can anybody give me some helpful advice please as i have never been in this situation before. :( Thanks in advance.

Distance selling regulations does not apply here as UK cannot impose its laws on other countries.
So to get a refund you will have to follow the company's process for refunding.
Now of course if they ''never'' turn up you can claim a chargeback through your card issuer.

Of course you will never deal with this company again will you? If they have a Twitter/Facebook page then complain on there.

I think iPhone is not the best way of making a biggish purchase, especially from abroad.

That said, it doesn't matter what the receipt says. What matters is what amount you authorised to get taken from your card. If you are sure that you did authorise $150 only, then it was a typical unauthorised transaction - a subject to basic chargeback rules/procedure.

Did the retailer actually make an error with the transactions or was amount just higher than you were expecting?

That might be the easiest option.

    From their website (http://www.biotrust.com/return-exchange-policy/):

All packages returned refused or undeliverable will be refunded the cost of the product minus the shipping fees incurred by refusal of the package.

No it was definately an error as one of the items (which I clicked one of ) went through 5 times in 5 seperate transactions.
Lesson learned, will definately not make a big purchase again on iphone, or trust their company again!!

    'definately' x2 - I hope it was a joke.

What you say makes very little sense. Normally you add items to the basket, then buy the basket and autorise the one-off total amount. If there is an error in the basket the total amount is incorrect, but needs your authorusation.

Was it one incorrect transaction or several identical transactions instead of one?

    A joke??

I authorised the amount and then they offered more products, of which I accepted one, but which totalled 5 on my receipt instead of 4. Why people cannot take things at face value I shall never know.
The guy at the Bank of Scotland did not think it made little sense or was a joke when I expained to him. Clerical /website error? Definately!

    Thanks for the input...

This thing I can take at a face value, but it isn't what you said in the earlier posts.

Because he saw several identical transactions?

If/when such unathorised transactions are debited, then I advise you contact the card company again as they said :)
