There's nothing 'rude' in that song - even taking the words to be the same as in the original. If it were calling anyone in RL that or something, then it might, potentially, be rude. However, 'mere rudeness' and 'offensive' are different things and it's okay, in some circumstances, to be merely 'rude' but, as for the circumstances in which this would or would not, or might/might not, be offensive to me, I'm not going into those circumstances again:o:o...

I, too, was after the naked bodies:rotfl: - unfortunately I think the naked bodies have been effectively censored in that video, although I wasn't really watching it:doh:, just hearing the soundtrack whilst I was looking somewhere else. Then I heard the soundtrack playing (whilst I was half-watching the television across the other side of the room) and I assume therefore they are no naked bodies or drug use in that version of the video. But, of course :rotfl:neither of those two things are the point when it comes to that video, potentially, in some circumstances, causing me offence - though fortunately not when I am, as I was here, completely alone when hearing it. Anyway, I wasn't going to go into that:o:rotfl::rotfl:.

(Not 'embarrassed' as such, certainly not in discussing it, here, with people who aren't in the same room as me, but more my feigned 'embararssment' at my obsession onto the topic again.)

I may well offend someone by saying "unfortunately" there were no naked bodies...but that's just me as a man, so understand it that way;).

The language in this version - doesn't it also sound less unpleasant than it did in the previous one? At least the first six or seven uses anyway. Now, here's a video I can watch in front of my father*, whilst that Vevo version would make me extremely uncomfortable if he were around.




(*That's if it came on the television+. I've always, bizarrely, not been okay putting the same thing on and playing it from my own CD with him in my presence.)


+Which of course it won't - they would be playing the Vevo one even well after 9pm, the fact the uncensored went out on a Discovery channel before then was an error. I just hope I never encounter the 'censored' Vevo version at any point at which my father happens to visit and someone else in my house happened to have switched it onto a music channel with it on, at any time of day or night. It's not any nudity or the drug depiction that bothers me.

Totally inoffensive and good song, in my own home or concert or late-night nightclub with an all-adult audience. (That is in regard to this particular 'unaltered soundtrack' version. As for the altered soundtrack version - a bit of an unpleasant song, because of the manner in which the language is communicated. Like saying it in an unpleasant way, urrghh! And, of course, they've only gone and altered the very words that are sometimes (albeit very rarely, in RL) unpleasant and made them unpleasant-sounding there whilst being - in theory - the same thing, in practice more unpleasant. The subjective way in which it sounds. Anyway, I'm going on and on way too much:rotfl:.)

This is becoming a 'regular' now - me posting an allegedly "rude" song each night... not intentional - just so many (originally) good songs that are these days...some different stuff hopefully next time. It was going to say "tamer" but - in the context of my home viewing - this is pretty tame already to me. And, in some circumstances...:doh::o:o going back on again:o - e.g. my father present, actually tamer for me in this version than the Vevo one (re. the soundtrack).
