Following on from VT's point, the problem will come if a mortgage is needed, the mortgage company will inevitably want to know where the extra money has come from, and if you say it's a loan (even if it doesn't have to be paid back anytime soon) then it will count against him for what they will be willing to lend him, as they'll see it as a debt. They are very hot on this kind of thing these days, especially since the mortgage rules were tightened up.
On the other hand, if you gift him the money, then you may have to sign paperwork to say you don't ever want it back, and in theory his wife might potentially then be entitled to some of it during the splitting of marital assets as it would be his money, not yours.
I'd suggest getting a free half an hour with a solicitor to find out for definite where he stands, and ask on the house buying board if you need any info, they're mines of information over there
Good point about the free half hour with solicitor, although we will be giving him the money it will be paid to dil to buy her out. DS3 has spoken to mortgage company and they have told him how much they are prepared to let him have. He needs less than that and can easily pay mortgage bills etc by himself. He was already paying them all anyway.
I'll pop over to house buying board later or tomorrow when I have more time.
Thanks for the help xThere's no place like home

Sorry folks, I'm just ruminating over what that man might have said at the end of Dispatches. He said "He is a" and then a BLEEP sound. You know - I've gone straight right to the very very top! Lol :rotfl::rotfl:- I bet he called him something extremely extremely mild, like a "dork" or something. Something, for me, that was never ever swearing, as such, and would never have offended me.
I can't know -:mad::mad:, I'd feel better off if I simply knew precisely what he'd said and then I could put the issue to bed for me. So - there we have it again - the annoying and unintended consequences of censorship. So as to arouse my anger and annoyance (and therefore offence) so much more, grrr!:rotfl:
And I bet you're [annoyed] with me for going on about it again here!
Where was the warning? Where was the ability to enable me, as a viewer, to make an informed choice about what I wished to hear or not hear and thus the ability to choose to have adequate protection from offence for myself?
I don't see what this short sequence added to the programme. It was totally unnecessary.

Blackberries washed and on a baking tray in the freezer, radishes will be chopped and chucked in a salad with the lettuce and homegrown tomatoes and cucumber, with some grated beetroot too
:eek: I NEVER wash soft fruit before I freeze it, I find it freezes far better if it has not been washed, mainly because it is very difficult to get it fully dry. I tend to wash it when defrosting.
I have 3 lbs of wild blackberries in the freezerCurrently our raspberries are barely making it out of the garden
We do have some in the fridge though, I have dibs on those for breakfast with my cereal

Well, I've asked them. Let's see what they respond... not that I can tell you on here (apologies for the offence).
In fact on one occasion - this was after, or in the middle of, all the Shilpa Shetty controversy, they bleeped a word on one of the programmes. People actually thought that the person bleeped had used a racist word and complained - and Channel 4 had to clarify, via news report in the Guardian, that it was 'merely' the C-word. Sometimes it can make things worse...
Causing misunderstanding and... probably misunderstanding causes offence sometimes.
Right - move on Savvy!...0 -
