Morning everyone - yet another gorgeous day, how lucky are we :j

Talking to eldest child last night and she was bemoaning that August was a 5 week month - I checked and actually it has 5 weekends and anyway I think they get paid on the last Friday of the month.

So I thought I would see if there are any articles on surviving a 5 week month and Google has let me down - so if anyone likes writing there is a subject to get your teeth into :D

I just sent her an email with the usual advice about having at least 2 pre planned NSDs a week so you don't have 6 enforced NSD at the end of the month - making your own lunch sandwiches up, taking coffee in a flask, avoiding going past bakeries and coffee shops en route to and from work, taking anything bought on impulse and not used eg tights back to the shop for a refund etc.

I also gave her the link to the MSE old style forum - she was writing her online shopping list when she was here last time and she seems to have an addiction to branded cleaners - people survived for thousands of years before flash surface wipes were invented.

Good morning everyone, a tad cloudy here but sure it will improve :D

Can I have some assistance please. Need to do a T v A shop, I have got Leerdammer, Bagels, Cravendale, value sausages (OH singes them so no point in buying any other for him ), I have been searching MSM and A.com and I can't find the Innocent Veg Pots in A, do they not do them and does that make it safe to put them in this shop please?

Sainsbury's have sets of 4 Royal Botanic Garden mugs, were £20 now £3. Nicely packed and lovely mugs http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/shop/home_and_garden/kitchen/tableware/mugs_and_cups/122360266_royal-botanic-gardens-at-kew-orchard-garden-mugs-set-of-4.html?hnav=4294893373

But £15 minimum spend for C&C.
I already have a set so can recommend them, make a great gift, so have ordered 5 sets to get free C&C

these are very nice - OOS at the mo but Ive put an email reminder for them.

the £15 minimum order for Sainsburys is really annoying - I get John Lewis delivered to Waitrose, Marks and Wilkinsons orders all delivered to store with no minimums

I would have said the toddler baby milk but the MOCs wont scan anymore :(

Value water at 17p is a good filler as is value lemonade. I also get the £1 butter and 35p garlic bread.

Have you had a look at the cashback sites and apps - quite a few people have the £1 milk on Shopotize and there was a code last night on their FB page for £1 off Mr Kipling lemon or chocolate slices which I think were £1 t and 94p A last night - need to check that again (asda actually have a 3 for £2 offer so you might be able to do that)

None of this will give you a better TPP though ...

Just checked and it's showing as in stock and can put in basket :)
    Edit

I've just done a quick search and don't have time to read through everything so hopefully there's something of use here:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/265542

Hopefully there will be some links to help, but I used to spend a lot of time on OldStyle and I think the general advice was to plan ahead- this isn't a surprise so keep a bit back each week in advance, and to use this as the chance to do a store cupboard challenge, use up the extra food sitting in the freezers and cupboards. Also using tricks like if you get a bogof offer, put one aside for the extra week etc.

I must run but hope there's something there to help your DD. I have the other problem, I'm paid 4-weekly so stretching to a month can sometimes be tricky, lol.

    It's only a game

    Morning all
Early start for us this morning as on our way to Peppa.
MKS we are going to the theatre show rather than PPW. My boys would love it there though so definitely on the agenda in the future. I won a family ticket to the theatre show back in March in a mothers day comp on FB. Got to be in MK for 9.30 though!
