That is good! School uniform is soooo expensive, well the 'branded' stuff is anyway. I'd say to anyone with little ones starting school. Don't buy lots of the branded stuff.....they grow out of it too quickly. 2 of anything is enough. 1 to wear whilst the other is being washed. And if they wear plain shirts/trouser/skirts, the cheap stuff that As and Ts sells is really good. Ts 75p polo shirts (if they still do them?) were fab, they washed well and lasted a whole year and were cheap enough to buy 5, a clean one for every day.

    Good advice, thanks :)
Yes I have had a look at the supermarket uniform in Mr T as it was so reasonable and I was nicely surprised that the trousers even had the adjustable waist elastic. Haven't yet bought any since they didn't have the little ones size but will buy it shortly.

I must say his pre school has been amazing, he loves it so much and the teachers are lovely so it is a shame he is leaving but then I suppose thats life and he is a very sociable child and already is super keen to start his new school. Just not really sure that he will appreciate the school holiday first :rotfl:

I definately agree with what FC says.
When DS1 started school I bought one of the polo tops with a logo on it (for school photos :D ) and then 5 from As or Ts in the same colour.
I also bought him the school jumper with the logo and the pe top with the logo.
Ment I only had to shell out on 3 branded items which he could use for 'best and got the rest from the supermarkets nice and cheap :)

I have one that can't wait to go to their new school and one that really doesn't want to :(
I think the holiday will be too long for one and too short for the other :rotfl:

    Morning all

Hope everyone is safe and sound after the storm. Guess who slept through:D DH says he was awake between 2:30 and 4:30 and it was raging. Looking after DGS2 today who is keeping me busy but hope to get out and increase biscuit stock later;)

Sun+ has tickets for Guardians of The Galaxy preview next Wednesday managed to get 2 and DS is a happy chappy.

That was a lovely surprise lucky lad.

Yes, completely unexpected, so nice. The school seems to have a happy and warm environment and is close that we can have a good walk there. We initially had dismissed this school due to it performing less well in the past than other schools but the latest report was very good, so all in all I think a good start.

I seemed to sleep through any thunder and lightning :rotfl:

Thanks, when we had a talk from his school they actually encouraged that parents bought most of the uniform from the supermarkets so that is good :) Like you say I will buy just a couple of the main items for the logo from his school.

Yes think I need to get planning the little ones social calendar for the holiday :rotfl:
