Please can someone with one of the LLoyd banks with the special interest rate confirm this.

Eldest child has heard a rumour that if you have one of these accounts one of the perks is free access to airport VIP lounges - true or false?

I got her to take up the free Hi Life card so they had half price access to the Gatwick VIP lounger before they set off on their hols - cheese, biscuits, bacon sandwiches and wine at 6.30 in the morning :T

(I keep meaning to have a close look at this account and go through the rules and regs page - trying to write a very long letter and a shorter one as well ,this morning and at this rate, keep getting distracted, its going to be lunch time before I get done

Got all excited then :D only 20% off walk up prices at Newcastle :(

    Good morning!
I think I need the elites help :o
It's the school prom tonight (DD is only 11!) and we have the dress (I gave in and bought her a new one for a tenner) and the shoes (they cost me 8 quid) and now I need to figure out what to do with the hair.
DD has brown hair which is pretty thick and sits on her shoulders (it goes up in a pony tail but not a very big one)
Any suggestions on styles for it? She wants it crimped but I don't really want to do that as it'll take ages and probably not hold.
I'm not brilliant at doing hair so need something reasonably easy :o

Any help will be greatly appreciated :)

    Is this any good??

How long do you have to do her hair?
If you wet it and then do lots of plaits it would dry crimped and last longer than curling.

Otherwise this is a great website for ideas with youtube tutorials. (Cute girls hairstyles) I am not an expert but have been able to do a few of their designs (not in the 3-5 minutes they take but less than 10!)

    Center parting
    Classic :D

Her hair doesn't do a centre parting very well :p
Shave it all off and buy a wig in the style she wants.

Now that's not very MSE, I want to do something that doesn't cost me money :p
How about a tiara from somewhere like Claire's Accessories?

One Girls Mum has already gone all out on a fancy dress, tiara etc... and I really don't think DD wants to compete.

It's a 'wear what you want' prom, so I may just go with CoTs idea and shave all her hair off :D

You have got off very lightly - is there enough hair to put into a neat bun at the nap of the neck using a do-nut and masses of bobby pins from the pound shop - there will be you tube videos to give you guidance, you might need hair spray as well.

My hair dresser said that for prom night the girls from the high school booked their hair appointments in January for prom night in early July  Others just had to be slotted in so they were doing wall to wall up-does all day

I know, I'm glad DD is just happy with her hair looking nice and doesn't want me to go too OTT.
I saw the dresses the Girls were wearing for the year 11 prom last week and apparently some of the parents spent over a hundred quid on just a dress
I told DD when she's in year 11 I'm not spending more than £30 on her for that day :rotfl:

    That link is fantastic :T
I've got some 'hair spins' (I think that's what they're called) from when she was a bridesmaid so can sling them in her hair too if I can find a good style to put them with :)
I think I have about an hour to do her hair so will see how it goes :)

Thatnx for the help, think I have a few ideas now

Does AE stand for A employee or something more sinister?

I was looking at the local school prom photos on the school web site the other day, they had limos, sparkly dresses, heels, makeup... looks like a bit of an expense to me....

When I left my primary school we had a buffet lunch in the pe hall provided by the leavers parents and a bit of a disco... Music on the school stereo...:rotfl: we did wear party dresses but nothing over the top...

I was a bridesmaid a couple of years ago and I've saved my dress purely for this purpose, I'm sure I can do something with it for DD prom... If they've not moved onto something else by then!!
