Anyone found it?
It was fine this morning when OH was using the laptop and went to switch it on and the taskbar is there once it switches on but once all the processes have happened it just flashes off.
I have tried Ctrl+Esc but all that does is open the start menu and I have tried adding explorer in my processes tab and all that does is open the "my computer" folder. Also tried doing the shell thing.
I am on XP if thats any help. Like I say it was absolutly fine this morning and nothing has been changed.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Try moving your mouse to the bottom of the screen on your desktop.
If your taskbar appears temporarily, while it is showing, right click, choose properties, and see if 'Auto hide the taskbar' is checked.
If it is then, just uncheck and apply.
If this isn't the solution, I don't know another one.0 -

I have tried all that and still no sign of it.
I have an object dock as well like what you get on a mac computer and all my applications were missing from that.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Have you got a line at the very very bottom of your screen? It is possible to increase and reduce the size of it with a click of the mouse.
Try moving your mouse to the bottom of the screen and seeing if the mouse arrow changes from the usual white arrow to a black one - if so hold the mouse button down and drag the mouse up slightly and it should reappear.Newlywed at the point I joined the forum... now newly separated0 -
Like I said in my last post, I have tried that and it is not there at all.
Scanning the computer now see if I have anything there.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Windows explorer within windows may have crashed.
Goto run & type explorer.exe then hit enter. If you can't find run cos of your missing task bar hit Ctrl+alt+del. When the task manager appears right click & select New Task & type explorer.exe then run. (Sorry I am doing this from memory as I am on my MAC at work so what i am describing might not be exactly as you see it but i hope you get general idea).0 -
All thats doing is opening "my documents" like I said in my OP.

I am doing an online scan with Panda and its picked up 4 hacking tools, I am going to sort that out and see if it brings it baclWork like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
If nothing you try works then go here .....

...click on "T" in the alphabetical listing at the top ...
Look down a little way and click on the blue link "Task bar is missing".
Download and install the small file.
Should fix it.

Oh well. It was worth a try.
If you have had a "good Google" you may have already tried all the main fixes I would offer but I'm going to try again.
Have a look here. See if anythign helps .....

I think it was my object dock that was causing the problems as the taskbar was there until MSN and object dock came on, then it disappeared. I have done a virus scan and removed the object dock and my taskbar has come back.
Weird though because I have had the object dock on my laptop for months and no problems with it.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0
