ICICI Bank

icici currently has the highest rates and that trumps all - but be warned - not the smoothest of operators. setting up the account took a long time, there were inconsistencies between my setting up and my wife's, there are even inconsistencies on their website, their replies to emails were fairly prompt but not always to the point.

I think most people on this forum know about the up and downs of ICICI.I had a scare also which prompted me to move everything to an ICESAVE account. In an Acapulco hotel:

Never had an issue with ICICI, opening the account was smooth.
I have even changed my linked account recently. Not a glitch.
I never had a problem with Icesave either.
I still have both.0 -

I have been with ICICI since September 2005 and have not had any problems.
Their interest is going up to 6.30% from 23rd July :j0 -
I have to say that I have not had any huge issues with my ICICI account yet. They do seem to do a few things in a strange way. Setting the account up was quick but I seem to recall it being a little bit different to other accounts.
I've noticed a few issues highlighted on this board which make me a little nervous, however for the rate I am being offered I shan't be switching any time soon.
I have had the occasional issue with the website being down, and the customer service being a little poor, and less than proactive (if that's the right way to put it)
I'll continue to monitor the account though. My farts hospitalize small children

There's a typo on their page at the moment:
Existing HiSAVE customer can also avail of the one year HiSAVE Term Deposit at 6.30% AER effective from 25th May 2007. Click here to know more.
Maybe i should request my better interest rate to be backdated?!0 -
I had a few problems with ICICI.
My main one was one month interest wasn't paid. Took them a couple of months to sort that one out. And they refused to backdate it so I lost the compound interest on that amount. Secure messaging at the time was a joke. Some didn't know what I was talking about, some told me un-truths ("It'll be applied next week", i"t'll be applied next month", "it'll be backdated")
Other problems were more minor, however they involved me having to deal with their CS. Which wasn't pleasant.
Even closing the account took ages.
If you don't have any 'unusual' requirements, and will never, ever have reason to talk to CS, then I can highly reccommend ICICI. Otherwise...Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0
