HELP with Travel Insurance

Hi Guys

Looking to travel to BARCA for 5 days from 18 December this year - part of my other half's Birthday come Xmas Box.

I think i'm organised for flights (Fri-Monday, £145ish for 2 returns from Newcastle) and hotel (got a couple to choose from around La Ramblas area for around £250/3 nights inc Brekky)

We are also looking to get away next year (somewhere like Spain again) as a family of 4 (2A+2C).

What is the best option for travel insurance?

Would it be SINGLE TRIP for 2 people
or ANNUAL COVER for a family?

Can two adults travel without kids on a family policy?

A family annual Europe only policy.

Yes most policies will allow those names to travel independently. However check the T&Cs of any policy you are considering. One policy I had allows the lead named on the policy to travel on their own, but not the other people on the policy.

On what? You've already had your questions answered.

The only other thing to add really is to ensure you buy the insurance early. A few ultra budget providers require you to have their annual insurance in place prior to buying the holiday but even if that isnt the case you still want to buy very close to booking to maximise the coverage you get as obv if you buy the holiday today and one of you had a serious accident prior to buying the insurance you'd have no coverage.

Have a look at worldwide exc us/can as well as europe as it doesnt tend to be that much more expensive and if you arent sure where your other holiday will be it may be less restrictive.

Obv also make sure you dont already have insurance, namely from package bank accounts but some higher credit cards and home insurance policies inc travel insurance

    Cheers II

Do you have an link or can you recommend an travel insurer. We will only travel to Europe, mainly Spain - not much further afield.

Is it worth using a comparison site - I love organising stuff, but am useless when it comes to getting best T.Ins Deal - Either a one of trip for a couple, or an annual one for a Family of 4 (2Ad, 1x9year and 1x 4 year old)

I am not legally authorised to give recommendations and have obvious conflicts of interests given my clients write the product.

Have a look at Defaqto for product quality star ratings and Which? for a more customer service view

Annual cover very quickly becomes cheaper than multiple single trips even if some of the single trips are not going to be with the whole family. The exception to this can be if one of the family members that arent attending all trips has a significant pre-existing condition.

Ultimately the only way to can tell for yourself is by doing quotes
