It seems like lots of great OS stuff going on.
Today I tackled the 'big box' in the wardrobe. The one where we throw receipts, instruction booklets and guarantees for the bigger household purchases. Trouble is it's a bit of a one way system and we never chuck out stuff relating to long gone items. It's funny how things I thought of as recent purchases (the oven and bed) are actually over ten years old. I just want to get an idea of how much we are spending and how long stuff we buy actually lasts so I can plan for future purchases.
Dinner was OS as I used up the wilting veggies and did a huge tray of Roast veggies with Quorn sausages.
Mum and Dad popped round and bought OH a couple of beers and some home-made jam to say thanks for a little job he did for them. I am very blessed to have a handy husband who can turn his hand to most jobs.Stashbusting 2019 - 230/3000 -
Hospital done, nothing spent. Went out with friends and spent £27 - on a sofa and a chair - yes really :j Big Cs warehouse, had to look round a bit then I saw an almost immaculate 3 piece suite for £15, its not fashionable or leather or even pleather :rotfl: but exactly what I need and very comfy. One chair had a chunky sort of leg missing and the other had 2 small slits in it at the back. So I told the chap I only wanted one chair and didnt want the price reducing - I know others would have tried but flipping heck £15. So he said he would swop the leg from the torn one onto the good one and £12 delivery - very happy ginny.
I also picked up a bird feeding station for Oh, think they sell for about £35 ish and I got it for £6. Thats the total money I have saved so far this month spent very wisely I think.Clearing the junk to travel light

Good morning,
My OS plan for today goes like this:
Get up, make DH packed lunch, breakfast for the 3 of us. If I can find flour among the boxes I shall make pancakes to stretch the last 2 eggs, otherwise it is granola and toast for DH and onion spinach omelette for me and DS.
Then a babysit to pay for an owed bootcamp, only just over an hour but it will be nice because I can do a laundry at her house and the children and I are going to the allotment to pick up a few plums.
Then a bit more shopping, I need eggs and a few other bits for DH lunches. Then, the dreaded ironing (noooo! NOOOOO!!!) that is growing as I wash more stuff. Ah, well, radio on, grit teeth and get on with it.
Tonight I am going out with a friend, I owe her a Chinese restaurant outing so it is my turn to pay.
Have a good OS day all. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Please can I join this thread
have lurked on MSE forums for a while soaking up your knowledge and thought it was about time I joined the conversation!
Hoping today will be a NSD after a slip up yesterday (£8.50 on a coffee and a B*rger King - eek what a waste!).
I've just got an allotment too so thanks for the tips on that! Must do some more research and figure out what to do with it0 -
I was very good yesterday and didn't venture near any shops (due to waiting in for builder) and then a lovely walk along the cliffs (free as it's just at the end of the road) and took a bottle of drink with us (there's no shops anyway).
Had a busy night with my online business, lots of people participated in my freebie offer and got a lot of enquiries about further work too.
Today won't be so OS - we're off to get DD2s GCSE results at 10am so a meal out this evening for the 4 of us plus DD2s BF, only a pub chain so it won't break the bank but we like to do something to celebrate. DD1 passed her A levels with great results too so I've got the girls a bit of jewellery each to mark the occasion.

Yesterday didn't turn out to be a NSD after all as my friend took me to a Chinese supermarket. I don't mind though as I got an absolute bargain on white vinegar and bicarbonate. Fingers crossed today will be a NSD instead2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000

Continuing the tidy up today. Yesterday unearthed several bottles of cleaning material due to tidy up of under kitchen sink.
Sainsburys are doing 25% off clothing for those of you looking to buy school uniform (or in need or other clothes). Was really pleased with my purchases. I picked up a set of 2 trousers that when discount was applied were £6. I bought 2 sets, so £12 for 4 trousers. Don't think I've managed to buy so cheaply since DS was at Infant school. I also picked up a packet of 2 white shirts for DS who is mens sizing, they netted down to £7.50, so bought 2 packs and I have 4 shirts for £3.75 each.
Maleficient is on the kids am viewing at my Vue cinema, for the next few days, so hoping to take DD to that tomorrow. Today when she wakes it's a journey into town to get her a bus pass ready for September.0
