    Good morning,

Villagelife good for you for your tidying efforts, am slightly envious! Although my house (well, the inhabitable parts at least) is reasonably tidy at the moment, thanks to our temporary lodger who pays part of her rent in kind, by giving me one cleaning per week (kitchen, stairs and bathroom).

I am not planning to do much today, just a walk to move my body a bit and also will have to take the laundry in and re-hang it indoors as it was out in the rain overnight.

Tonight I have a friend's birthday party so need to go out and buy her something, probably a plant. There will be a lot of food (tempting! Got to stay focused and not overeat) so no need to cook dinner.

    Have a good OS day.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • Afternoon all! Last 48 hours seems to have been non-stop. Tonight I'm getting an evening to myself for the first time since Monday - though I shall be filling it with washing, some other chores and a bit of work related stuff.

This weekend has been a no-spend weekend which has made me happy. Was on a course yesterday and felt like I needed to get out of London for the evening, so spontaneously popped up to see the boyfriend in Hertford. His parents got an Indian takeaway for dinner so I joined in on that, and his mum cooked a Sunday roast today. Yum :D
Fed up of paying off someone else's mortgage so saving for a deposit for my own home :D

Watched the rugby on Saturday but meeting my friend was more enjoyable.

On Sunday I sorted out some of my books and have an enormous pile to take to League of Friends shop at the hospital when I work there.
I also sorted out some jumpers and tidied them up and decided that I didn't need a couple of them.

We spent some time in the garden clearing metal rubbish out of the way and took to the tip. A job done but still some left to do.

Went to MIL and had a meal there. She spent much of the time moaning and telling us how fantastic her friends are unlike us. She dislikes it if myself and DH go out and have any sort of life that doesn't revolve around her. She is very derogative about our new garden and that I have chickens and am growing my own veg. She doesn't believe in using up leftovers and crticises when I do.

Had a NSD and about to prepare veg for tea. I will them complete my online shop and then some ironing needs to be done.

    Morning Y'all :)

Very productive so far this morning. Frog dropped at nursery, one towel wash on the line already and another in the machine almost done, as we have a little sun forecast today I am going to try to wash and then sunbleach the inserts from my cloth nappies - they're looking a little grey :o

It seems there is quite a market for selling on preloaded nappies, especially the brand I have so I intend to keep them as stain free and well washed as I can so that I can sell them on, I think I may even be able to recoop as much as 1/3 of the price paid for them :T

Last few days have been the usual of trundling round Al*i and Te*sco doing the weekly shop and keeping the kids out of trouble. Tom has decided he has lemming tendencies and tries to wriggle and crawl off the changing table whenever I change him, Frog has reached the complacent stage of toilet training and is wetting herself up to 5 times a day which makes for lots of washing.

I also discovered last night that she had taken herself off to the loo whilst I was putting Tom to bed, so far so good you say ;) what I failed to notice was that she had also unravelled the entire new loo roll and shoved half down the loo and blocked it. So there I was at 9pm with my arm up the u-bend and then using my mop in a bin liner as a plunger to unblock it :mad: The mop/plunger was a MSE saviour a year or so ago when our drain backed up so the tip has been used twice now to great effect!

Today the carpenter-builder is coming round to finish the up stands in my kitchen and hopefully the final part of the cupboard in the utility room for the ironing board. I also want him to shave a bit off the bottom of the door to en suite, since the flooring went down it catches so we can't shut the door properly.

    Evening y'all,

I've had a message from Caterina that she's decided to take a break from the internet, including MSE and Facebook. She sends her love to you all and hopes that our general OS chit chat continues in her absence.

I hope you'll all stay and I look forward to further discussion on the day to day OS stuff :)

    Icey xx

That's a shame that your family are not supportive, its sad that she feels the need to criticise just because she does things differently to you

Icey77 Oh I will miss Caterina but I understand where she is coming from. Although my posts are infrequent I will still be dropping by :)

Well due to money constraints my life is super OS atm :rotfl:

I surprised myself yesterday with a throw together meal to use bits in the fridge up and it turned out great. Left over roast chicken, soft cherry toms, half a capsicum, 4 cobs of fresh corn & salad leaves all turned into yummy tacos

I have a girlfriend coming over for coffee this morning and I'm trying to think of something for us for morning tea using what I have in, will have to get my thinking cap on

    Have a great day everyone
Love people use things. The opposite never works.
  • Morning all! Just on my way to the Midlands for a work thing - here till tomorrow evening.

Had to buy some breakfast at the station this morning but all meals are provided until tomorrow, so a very MSE trip :)

Hi all, still working hard here but somedays its sooooo hard to be O/S. I have just saved some cash though, my gp is retiring and our new one is very good. Its like a whole new world, lovely surgery, disabled access and a Gp who listens. He has actually given us painkillers that OH and I need on prescription - thats £5 a week saved :j I might just get some support in caring for Hubby at last.

Life is tough for Caterina at the moment so I totally understand her need for a break and Im in touch with her (she came to visit last week which was lovely) I will let you know how she is doing.

Im off for a short break next week in Southport and am looking forward to fresh air and different walls to look at. Its very O/S, we bought an online offer before Christmas, 2 nights at a lovely hotel, B&B plus first evenings meal ( including wine but we dont drink :o) and I have a gift card for a locl restaurant so second nights meal taken care of too. Dont think I will need a bucket nd spade though :rotfl:

    Good morning (just!)
So far today we've been to town for a haircut for Frog, much prettier now :D and to buy some socks for Tom, the current ones were just too small :o.

We also had a look through all the CS in an attempt to find a crown, Tom broke Frog's so I promised to find her a new one. These things are critical at her age :rotfl:

The builder-carpenter did come around yesterday and I now have up stands, he will be back on Friday to finish the utility room and hang the two last doors. :)

Just a quick post will write more tomorrow.
Have been sticking to my menu plan - it does make cooking less stressful and cheaper with less waste.

Yesterday was a NSD- I do need as many of these as possible as DH is self employed and work is relatively quiet at the moment.
