Evening all!
Caterina, if you do have the address of the one in Stoke Newington then it would be very much appreciated. I like to try and be as green as I can, and if I can do it on an MSE budget then ever better!
Today's an NSD for me. Managed to get out of work on time and am planning to have a relaxed night in. I've done some washing, have got some pork belly roasting and will probably do some food planning for the week. Got some TV to catch up on too. I'm hoping to go out for a cycle tomorrow, haven't been on my bike in ages.Fed up of paying off someone else's mortgage so saving for a deposit for my own home

Evening
Toad is fine and back on form now, his spots are all dried up and just waiting for the scabs to go. Sounds yucky doesn't it! Frog is also in fine form, she's busy enjoying a lollipop before bed. I know, I know not the best but she has been reasonably well behaved today so a little treat will be ok.
I'm making curried parsnip soup at the moment, yummy. I shall freeze it for my lunches in the week when Frog is at nursery and it's just Toad and me.
There is light at the end of the decorating tunnel, hurrah hurrah!! The irritating painter is in the last room an pd anticipates finishing Wednesday. Then it's just the flooring which is being laid week beginning 7th and then we have to contemplate carpeting the rest. And then, finally then, we are finished. And I shall never entertain the idea of building an extension ever again!Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0 -

Sorry for speedy post, off to bed, early start tomorrow. Good night. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Today I must put tea in slow cooker before we go to rugby which will stop DH deciding to buy a takeaway on way home. I haven't budgeted for a takeaway and we need to save for another short break in May.
I'm researching free things to do in Newcastle/York area and feel we can spend very little money and can be saved for relatively easily.0 -
Hi VF I lurk on this thread. I believe the Baltic is free and so is the Hancock museum in Newcastle. Check before you go as its been a while since I was there. HTH

Evening all! My plans went slightly awry today so it ended up being a spending day.
I was intending to go cycling but as I got on my bike, I noticed the tyres were slightly flat. I went to pump them up but managed to snap the valve off the rear tyre! Cue a long walk to the nearest bike shop - fortunately they only charged £10 to return it.
Because I couldn't cycle, I went to a local museum instead. That was free and really fascinating, I learnt quite a lot. I then ended up going to Lidl and doing my weekly shop. Had to top it up at Asda as Lidl didn't have everything and had to get a few extras as I have a friend coming for dinner tomorrow, so it was a bit more expensive than usual. I'll have to ensure that I'm really good at my NSDs next week to make up for the extra spend.
Currently baking homemade brownies and watching Take Me Out. Nice chilled evening I thinkFed up of paying off someone else's mortgage so saving for a deposit for my own home

My first level stain remover is washing up liquid. That's fab as getting baby poo out of anything - none of Toad's baby gro's have poo stains and we've had some major explosions!! It also shifts tomato based stains and nearly all grease or oil based stains like salad dressings etc
Just a quick thanks for this tip Icey77. Used washing up liquid on my shirt stains last night and they're now all gone :TFed up of paying off someone else's mortgage so saving for a deposit for my own home

Lucielle - thanks for the tips I'll look into them.
DH was convinced not to buy a takeaway and had the casserole from the slow cooker and two portions are now frozen aswell.0 -
I've just looked at Lucielle's suggestion and I would love to visit both and both are free. I know that DH would prefer Hancock to the Baltic though.0

Great!!!:T
The only thing I have found is that if you use a tumble dryer (unlikely with MSE I know but!) the stain will be set and nothing will get it out then
My excuse is that I have 2 kids and to get anything dry with building works and naff weather is impossible :mad:Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0
