I have saved that link and will start house hunting!
Remember you can in some circumstances get an overlap of Housing Benefit where your old Local Authority can pay Housing Benefit for upto 28 days if you have an overlap of tenancies. So at your new property if you have to move in straight away then your previous local authority can pay for upto 28 days to cover some of the notice period. These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0 -

Oh that's brilliant, thank you! I am sure my landlord would understand and I'm on 30 day notice period, so I would inform him as soon as I am certain I will be moving.
Thank you for all your help! Are there deposit bond schemes available in other counties that can help with deposits on a new place? I love renting privately but finding the deposit would be quite difficult?0 -

You would need to ask at your new council.
You need to ask about deposit bond scheme where they guarantee the deposit (no money changes hand) or apply for a Discretionary Housing Payment.0 -

Thank you, I have used a bond scheme in the past, when My old Landlord evicted me following the breakdown of an abusive marriage. I would assume they work the same across all councils?
Are there any sites around that I can look at that show properties to rent that accept deposit bonds and housing benefit? The only ones I know of don't specify either
