I've been on at my neighbours for a few years about cutting down some conifers that are damaging my house and blocking my sky signal as they were getting taller than my house, anyway I came back from shopping the other day to see them chopping them down.
I am pleased they have chopped them down but now I have no privacy from them at all, my question is will these grow back? I've posted a picture. I only wanted my neighbour to lob the tops off so I could maintain them myself from my end

No. Why dont you plant your own hedge or put a fence up? As they say, be careful what you wish for...Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

Planting a hedge is a good idea, but I'm clueless when it comes to gardening

Even if you did plant a hedge, it will take at least 2 years to grow 6ft and that's if you look after it properly.
Best get quotes for a fence if you want your privacy back quicker than that.
PS
The one you have linked to will take a good 3 years plus to reach 6ft.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -
Fencing it is then. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Those conifers will probably never grow back properly and they will look awful for a very long time, if not for ever.
Plant your own hedge, put up a fence or live with it are your three options.
PS: I overlapped with your post about fencing above.0 -

Leylandii won't grow from old wood, those stumps are there 'for ever' unless someone gets them removed.
Looks like the neighbour enjoyed living in a dark forest glade surrounded by the wretched things.0 -
ask the neighbour what there plans are first .They may pay half the fence costs ."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0

A hedge is a good idea but I know nothing about planting unfortunately

They were as big as the ones in the background and came over my house hitting all my guttering, blocking my sky dish and blocking my light in my living room window, it is a relief to have them gone but i wanted to retain some privacy, my neighbours didn't seem to mind living like that, even tho the tress had broke all the guttering on there house and was completely covering the kids bedroom window :eek:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. They told me that they are leaving them like that, very odd imo, as for them paying for fencing no chance - so seems like my only option is fencing or grow a hedge, fencing looks well expensive as would have to get someone to fit it plus my back garden is huge! This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
