Lottery outlets not wanting to give cash winnings

Has anyone else noticed this recently?
Usually if you won a small amount like a few quid for 2 balls in the Euros, you'd hand your ticket over and they gave you the money.
Now you seem to get a hard sell to take it in scratchcards or more tickets instead.
I thought it was just my local newsagent but have experienced it in a few places now including Supermarkets. It's like they've been instructed by Camelot to try and talk people out of taking cash.
May seem like a minor rant compared to some on here :rotfl: but was triggered by the guy in the Post Office telling me "we no longer give out cash on winnings under £10 you have to take tickets" until I pointed out that it's not up to him.. I paid cash for the ticket, I want cash back for the winnings.

It is against their contract to refuse payouts of £50 and under. These must be paid out from all lottery retailers.
I mean they only get 5% commission on sales. I would think doing payouts means they have less cash to bank saving on charges. But the idea is that if you use your winning to buy another ticket you would buy a high margin item at the same time.0 -
I use Morrisons and have they always pay out without any problems. I claimed from a couple of quid to 3 numbers on hot picks=£500. Always paid out with a smile and well done xRIP TJ.
