Hi
So my wife and I have split up recently, but that's a different story, but she has decided to take the kids on holiday to turkey next week, which I am fine with. To get into turkey you need to buy a visa, which up to this year was done by paying £10 per person and child at the airport. Now this is done online, and is still £10, but I believe this is only per adult, so visa total should be £10 for my wife and kids (3 yo & 5yo). But she went onto the wrong site, instead of going onto the Turkey government site, she went onto Turkey.evisas.org, put the details in for the 3 of them, only to find out that they have charged her 3 X £69, so almost £210 for what should've cost £10. Now I don't know all the details of whether there was anything during the sign up process that states how much it costs, but going onto their website, there is no mention of £69. She only knew that this cost so much after I saw the money go from our joint account. She has sent an email to ask for a refund but it states in the t&c's that no refunds are given. Can anyone give me any advice please as I think this is shocking for a £10 visa.
Thank you

you are not correct about the e-visa costs now - its 20USD per person (so around £12 at the current exchange rate) and each person, adult or child, needs one, so it would be 60USD for your wife and 2 children.
This is the correct site to apply for the visas - https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/
Has your wife got the visas okay from the company she applied to? On the proper site you get an email confirmation, with the visas to print off. Also, on the official site it clearly states that there are no refunds given.
eta - I've just opened the evisa.org site your wife used - it clearly says on the first page what they charge -
https://turkey.evisas.org/
It also clearly gives a comparison between the costs of their website and the official Turkish government site, and even goes as far as advising people to use the official site if they don't want to pay the extra admin fees this website charges.
Sorry, it looks like your wife made a costly mistake this time.0 -
I see that now, I was originally looking on evisas.org without the turkey bit in front of it. Yes it is a very frustrating costly mistake.0

Costly mistake indeed, I'm going to Turkey soon and had trouble applying for the visa via the offcial site, the confirmation email would arrive long after the 1 hour confirmation window, got it sorted now ,it was £11.67 via evisa.tr , I did see some copycat sites that were charging £35.0 -
