Co-op / CEL Court claim

  • Yes I appreciate I did not need to pay them £35, but as I said it suited my circumstances to not have to go to the court for the morning, as I had no leave to take and felt asking for unpaid leave to go to court did not really look good at work.

I am also being compensated by the Co-op.

I agree though, and am disappointed that I was not able to attend and make life more difficult for CEL.

Further to the issue of CEL tricking ppl into not attending court.... I call the court in the morning and my case was still listed. I told the clerk it was settled and showed her the paperwork CEL had issued, she vacated it. I raised the concern that something 'dodgy' may have been going on, but when she checked later they had got the email from CEL, so they had notified the court.
