TFL parking fine

Hopefully someone on here can give a little advice.

Had bailiff on doorstep this morning over wife's unpaid parking fine. Original notice (and any subsequent correspondence) was sent to old address (her V5 now shows current address).

Rang TFL who directed us to Northampton County Court to get a Witness Statement (done).

Question is £65 ticket is now £272 with added costs; if we lose 'appeal' will there be a chance to pay the £272 or will we have to pay extra bailiff fees (he mentioned an extra £250!).

Thanks.

The experts on these kind of things are on Pepipoo in the Council Tickets forum: http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=30

Over there you'll also find BailiffAdviceOnline recommended as a good source of advice and help once they start showing up.

Thanks for the info; I don't mind paying the original fine (or even the fine including one lot of bailiff's fees) but now I know about the ticket, another £250 seems ridiculous.

But pepipoo will help you to get it back to appeal stage where they almost always find grounds to win! There will be no bailiff fees but you need help with the OOT (out of time) application so start a topic on pepipoo with pics of all your documents, everything. DO NOT POST THERE WITHOUT PICTURES.

Coupon-mad; quite happy to pay fine, not sure what grounds I'd have to appeal, caught on camera, restrictions clearly displayed (my son was born 3 days before so wasn't concentrating fully!)

Please go to pepipoo, no one wants you to have to pay this. Why should you pay it?

    Because I parked illegally?

Been to pepipoo, hopefully with their help I can get it back to the original £65.

No you didn't! You are not getting decrim parking enforcement yet. ILLEGALLY indeed!

Perhaps illegally is the wrong word; in contravention of parking restrictions might be more appropriate.

Yep and almost every case can be successfully appealed - pepipoo help almost every poster to win in the end. There are always grounds for appeal.
