Hi, I have always considered myself pretty money savvy, but this PPI is confusing me.
Apart from my mortgages, the only credit i have ever had is a barclay card i paid off every momth, and a 0% credit card that i paid the minimum amount off each month never missing a payment.
Is there any chance that PPI was mis-sold on 0% credit cards?
Is my mortgage work a shot, Barclays have already declined my initial ppi claim
Thanks

As you paid the cc balance every month, it wouldn't matter whether it had ppi attached or not, as it is only charged on any outstanding balance.
Any cc ppi would be itemised, on a separate line on the monthly bill. It can't be hidden.0 -

Yes. there is a chance it could have been mis-sold. However, it would stand out like a sore thumb. It would be a transaction on the statement increasing the balance. if you never saw such a transaction then you did not pay it. If you didnt pay it then you couldnt have been mis-sold (or sold correctly). Plus, cards that have the balance repaid within the interest free period, dont get charged PPI as you are not borrowing the money. Is my mortgage work a shot, Barclays have already declined my initial ppi claim
Most MPPI complaints fail. Today, it is only one of two types of PPI that are still retailed. The FSA review recognised that it did not suffer many of the issues that loan and credit card PPI have. The FOS reject most MPPI complaints as well.
Not sure what you mean by "initial PPI claim" as you only get one complaint. If you disagree with the outcome then you can refer to the FOS within 6 months of that rejection. After that you are timebarred from future complaint.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
