My advice is lay low. I think you hit the nail on the head. She feels threatened, probably because she knew once you were hired that her inadequacies would come to light. Her strategy is to try to get to you to shift the focus from her. Probably a confidence issue.
I had a similar issue with a collegue once when I starte a new job and it made me feel really paranoid and weary. I was persuaded that she didn't like me and felt negative about me so was very surprised when she opened up one day about something personal. That was the moment the wall broke and from there on, we became more and more comfortable with each other. Years later, we are close friends.0 -

Or maybe HR are humouring her-know what she's like and realize she'll settle down in time. I'd quietly collect email copies for now -and then when/if you leave present them to HR and your boss . She does sound treatened by you. It may just be that she thought she was getting an assistant and is miffed someone has been employed on the same level as her.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

To clarify, it is not a job share. We are both PAs to the company owner and both work the same days, we are both on the same level. Although she has been at this company for a lot longer than me.
I don't feel I have been unprofessional, is it professional for HR and her to be sending emails like:
Psst - she has just gone out to make tea - (in the title of the mail I might add).
And this morning - because I had a dentist appointment she was asking HR - 'is she going to be making up the time? She has been making personal phone calls a lot this week and has another dentist appointment etc...
I can see how it may seem weird to some but yes, the treatment I am getting is making me paranoid!
Be very wary as she sounds very dangerous, she is jealous and is a threat to you, something missing in her head and her life BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The person I knew tried to get another member of staff sacked doing the same job as her, for not making her a cuppa, she was only a worker herself but thought she couldn't be done without, when she was off duty a cloud lifted until her return then back to STRESS. Keep a copy of all those e-mails for you may need them in the very near future, I empathise with you as this is a terrible atmosphere to have to work in.
Ps she got the road eventually but with a big payoff to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0
