Santander credit card application

Morning all, wonder if anyone can help?

I've recently been moving some debt around, for some reason i left a Barclays credit card account running for ages paying large amounts of interest! So i applied for, and was instantly accepted for, a Halifax card, and duly transferred some debt across.

So far so good.

Flushed with success at this, i subsequently applied for a Santander card, but this time for a long interest free payment card, with the intention of upgrading my TV, using the card as an interest free loan and with the intention of paying off the balance within the 18 month period.

However... I did the application online over a week ago, and at the end of the process was given a reference number (OLA*******), and told its normally sorted within 3 days...

I called the phone number given with the reference number for checking application progress, and the woman told me to phone a different number. Phoned that, and an automated message told me they couldn't check an online application on the phone, and to go on the website. Go on the website, and there's no way of checking online applications for credit cards either! You can ask to have a loan or savings application tracked, but not a credit card!!!

So i'm lost at the moment, i've no idea if its been accepted or not! Has anyone else applied for a Santander card recently and had success? I'm assuming that as i was accepted for the Halifax card that my credit rating is ok and shouldn't be a problem, but am now worried this may have wrecked that a bit... am i just being impatient?

I understand Santander have a bit of a reputation for being terrible at customer service, wish i'd read that before applying...

Do you bank with Santander? I got the same message for the 123, but my card appeared in online banking the following morning.

Didn't get an email or any confirmation, the card then just turned up a week later.

I had to wait about 3 weeks.

Then received my card, PIN and online details in the same postal delivery (different envelopes).

Took another 3 weeks to get a "Welcome to your new CC. Your card should be with you shortly" when I had already been spending on the card!

No i don't bank with Santander, so patience is the key then i guess!

The thing is the TV i was looking at buying isn't on offer anymore so I probably won't end up using it anyway! :doh:
