Basic i3/i5 motherboard... with IDE?

I am not 100% on this, but I'm under the impression that to use the unlocked multiplier features of the "K" CPU's (and now presumably that budget unlocked Pentium) you need either a Z87 or Z97 chipset equipped motherboard.
They are more expensive than the H81 and B85 boards, which are the cheapest options for these CPU's.
The G3258 is not missing any significant features compared to the G3240, in other words I think the CPUBoss site is wrong - http://ark.intel.com/compare/80796,82723
I certainly wouldn't overclock with the standard Intel cooler. As a cost effective upgrade something like the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 is quite cheap and should be good for some overclocking on the Pentium (I wouldn't like to use it for overclocking the i5/i7 series though).0 -

Get Asus Motherboard. They have done some tweak on BIOS which allow low end motherboard to overclock.
