I don't have a lot of sympathy. You should have taken the job. Once you are in work, it's easier to get another, better paid job.

I don't think you'll get hardship money as the DWP will expect your parents to support you - but could be wrong. I hope so.

They said: "you could be doing around 8 hours overtime each week which is mandatory during peek times"

    (retail job)

The unpaid part was written on the contract, they didn't actually say it until I pointed it out. VERY important to read before you sign

    Post a photo.

But, isn't it better than not working? A foot on the ladder. Something on your CV.

Why not just look at it as short term, until something else comes along? Get some experience.

Or maybe it's better sitting at home, with your feet up, not having to bother about going out to work - even for a couple of hours a day?

You do not have to take a job that will pays less than JSA so if the job was really only £50 per week then appeal the sanction.

Whilst what you have written is true, the OP would have to live on £50 per week. Could you live off £50 per week?

The OP could have continued to sign on - they would not be worse off.

As the job is less than 16 hours her would still be eligble to sign for jsa, look for another job. it certainly help to have recent work experience on his C.V. and recent reference. No -one stays he has to stay in the job.

I agree with almost all of the above. Here are the options and solutions summarised.

    1. The OP is correct - report the employer to HMRC and JCP.
    2. The OP is not correct - take the job, continue to sign for JSA.

In either case appeal the sanction and explain why the job was refused.
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).

In what way is the OP vulnerable?

I have never heard anything like this. Your case must be a one off OP
The opposite of what you know...is also true
