Car insurance increase - but not at fault - Why?

I'd run a quote now as if you had no outstanding claim and keep the reference number, otherwise the insurance company might just say 'your insurance would have only been £5 cheaper' and it at least gives you something to argue from. Plus as above, even though it wasn't your fault, your baseline quote will have increased. I was told I couldn't claim this difference back from the 3rd party in a not at fault claim (I wasn't even in the car), I'd argue I should be able to so I would be back in the position before the accident although for the £12 extra premium it cost I never bothered to follow it up.0
