My sofa has loose back cushions which have a foam core and feather around it. They're a bit of a pain to be honest. I have to keep puffing them up and the feathers have a tendency to clump at the bottom.
Also, the cats often sit on the top of them which ends up squishing them down or folding them over.0 -
We try them in the sofa shops while looking as they seem to be full of them, I don't like them too much, I like the look, but they're so low on the back i'd feel i cant relax properly0

I hate sofas where the back is multiple cushions. I can never get comfortable.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

I have a 4 seater with pillow back cushions. I would never again buy one although I do think they are really comfortable to sink into and slob, I am always spending time puffing them up and rearranging so the sofa looks neat rather than an unmade bed. Drives me nuts even though it only takes minutes.0

We have one. It's annoying as it always looks rumpled. However, it is nice to be able to move the cushions around to where you need them.0

Drives me mad, forever plumping it up. Considering replacing feathers with a firm foam filling but the cats love sleeping on the top so much - a bit like being in a hammock.0

I had pillow back sofas some years ago and hated them as I was constantly tidying them. However I've just had a large corner sofa with pillow back which I was dubious about but I preferred the look to the formal back and on this one the cushions seem to stay in place. The cushions are huge though as it is a massive sofa so don't know if that has something do to with it.0

I've never heard the phrase "pillow back sofa" before but I immediately knew what sofas you were referring to, they annoy me; I don't find them comfortable. I like a sofa with quite a high, firm back for support, and pillow back sofas tend to have a lower back (in my experience). My friend has a pillow back sofa and she seems to be constantly rearranging the cushions.0
