Experian background check

Hi!
I have one ccj which has been paid and disclosed to work. They're about to do an experian background check which I understand isn't a "full" credit check. I've got pretty woeful credit but would a background check show up any defaults or just the ccj?
I did have a court fine (very stupid) for not paying a metrolink tram ticket which I tried to fight and it failed spectacularly. Ive been told that wouldn't show up as it's not actually a criminal record.
Any help would be appreciate, cheers.

Experian's slimy tentacles reach into very many areas of personal and private data. However, unless you've agreed (i.e. been forced to agree) that the check includes a criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service, they won't find out about any criminal records. Also, the scope of who a check can be carried out against has recently been reduced, so your job may not be covered. Having said that, there's a massive workaround that allows the likes of Experian to go via the Scottish equivalent of the DBS to find out about criminality in England. This loophole has not yet been closed off by the government.
Also, the likes of Experian and Capita also trawl the Net for press reports and the like. Let us know how you get on.0 -
A soft search will still show up any defaults as well as CCJs.0
