Changing Road Tax from Disabled to Private? (DVLA Offices don't exist anymore! )
Disabled Vehicles?- UNdisabling it? (so it is registered as NON disabled ? )
If a vehicle is registered as disabled, then what is the process to registered it as a NON disabled vehicle?
So from a disabled vehicle, the procedure to make it registered as non disabled.
as I am sure some peoples healths have got better, and they have come OFF DLA, as they have improved, so would no longer be registered as disabled
- so what is the procedure to Undisable a currently disable registered vehicle?
What forms would be needed, to be filled in ?
I don't mean a leased motability vehicle, but a owned one which is registered by the owner as a disabled vehicle.

Go to the post office and change it.0

I had an old Citroen ZX (don't ask) that had been registered disabled. I had to go to the local DVLA office in Chester to get it's use changed. That was over 10 years ago now, so things may have moved on since then.

Go to post office and tax it in the usual way, they send off the V5 and give you a tax disc, non disabled, you get a V5, non disabled in a week or two. EASY.
I think it is a criminal offence to use the car with a disabled tax disc if the disabled person is not in the car.0 -

Similar here: I bought a car from auction that had a disabled tax disc. Never gave it much thought. When it expired and I went to the post office to renew it they said they could not do it. Had to go to the DVLA office in Bangor. That was a few years ago too.0 -
Years ago you had to go to a grotty LVLO to change tax class, but it can all now be done at the PO.0

So you can go to a Post office, to change the tax of a vehicle from a Disabled vehicle to private, at the PO?
Do they do it right there, and then?
and what paper documents need to also been bought in by the customer?
How about letting DVLA know?
How long will DVLA take to update their details.
as it will now be private, does a private disc have to be purchased on the spot?0 -
I went to view an old car once and the seller was selling it with disabled tax. He had the car a few months and said he didn't bother changing the tax class. Some dodgy folk use free disabled tax as a selling point.
Same the people who stick 1.6 engines in a 1.0 car but don't notify DVLA/insurance.0 -

Not quite. The vehicle must be registered in the disabled person’s name or their nominated driver’s name. It must only be used for the disabled person’s personal needs. It can’t be used by the nominated driver for their own personal use.
My wife has a disabled tax disc, and I am happy to use the car without her if it is something for her needs (getting prescriptions, returning home after dropping her somewhere etc) but I don't use it for my own transport. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0
