One more quick question
Are all of the competitons that are on the above 6 popularity threads on the 260 pages of the competitions board?
The reason I ask is I have just entered a Real Deal comp on the popularity ones but I have never noticed those on the competitions boards before“I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.” - Billy Joel

Is there a list of comps that require a purchase? Possibly over the MSE limit but things most people would buy anyway. Or are these just not shown at all on here?
I remember seeing one last year, where you had to buy Daz washing powder from Lidl.. which I needed anyway.. and there were 10 washing machines to be won.. I was very lucky and actually won one of them!
When I looked to thank the poster I couldn't find it.. do these automatically get removed? If so, then we are all missing out on some fab comps which are possibly quite low entry.0 -

Removal would not be automatic but rather relies on a member reporting the thread as breaking the MSE limit.0 -
Thanks weeowens. I don't know how the forums work or who to ask, but would it be possible to have a separate thread for these purchase to enter comps ?
It may help us all with a shopping list to know what to look for when we buy our usual shopping.
There are some amazing comps out there. For example.. The Brians Million comp on Confused.com. Many of us will be buying insurance anyway and might not know about this.0 -
It's been asked before if it would be allowed for purchase comps &
I agree with you,
there's some great comps out there that we can enter when purchasing stuff,
but
this is the ruling for them..

Competitions must be open to all If you are invited specially to do a competition with a code, and the competition isn't open to all. Please do not post the codes here, that is breaking terms and conditions of a competition runner and could be seen as incitement to breach contract. (something neither I nor the poster want).
Free Competitions Only. This is a not a place to advertise competitions you have to pay to enter. I will accept limited cost text message type competitons (though frankly they're usually naff apart from in special circumstances) where they cost up to £1.50 to text to enter, but generally I would say make sure they are free.
MSE UPDATE OCT 2013: Many paid-to-enter competitions now cost more to enter. We've asked Competitions Board users the limit they feel is appropriate in this poll and have increased the maximum cost to £2.10. Please remember we don't encourage forum users to spend money on competitions but if you still feel you absolutely must enter these competitions then that's fine.please be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
Thanks fire**fly
I agree with the ruling that to specifically pay over the limit to enter a comp would be unacceptable.
Buying a product you would normally purchase and having the bonus of a competition entry doesn't really seem to be covered.
I am unable to comment on that ruling, but really feel strongly that we are all missing out.0 -
again I agree with you gizmo,
there was a great comp a few months ago but the purchase was just over the limit & it was something majority of people buy most weeks on their shopping list but if it had been posted it would have been deleted,
would be great if there was somewhere we could all put any finds on for everyone.please be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0
