broken glass table

hi i bought an 11 piece white terraline garden furniture from my very account.on the 2nd april asssembly was ok i thought the glass was a bit thin but put it up anyway,this morning about 11am my wife and daughter inlaw and one of our neighbours was having a cup of coffee along with our twin boys who were in the twin buggy next to said table.when they picked up their cup to drink then put it back on the mat on the glass table it just exploded,glass flew everywhere over the twins they had to be bathed and changed my point being who is responsible for repair or exchange my very account or my home contents insurance

You can ask them and see what they say but they will likely put it down to accidental damage.
You could try looking online to see if there are any other complaints regarding this table to see if there is any basis for not fit for purpose.0 -
What thickness is the glass? And what size is the table?
Is there anywhere in on the surface or edge of the glass that says 'Tempered'?
Glass tables are fragile, and a 'point load' (ie a corner of a square plate) can cause the glass to shatter.... Try 'Very' first, but id be surprised if they say anything other than accidental damage...0 -

If I had young children I wouldn't have a glass table. But to answer your question I would write to very advising that it was in your opinion 'Not Fit for Purpose' and take it from there.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0
