Wilkinson seeds now 5p
Popped into my local Wilko this morning, the last clearance packs of seeds now in clearance area near door, for 5p a packet
Got 11 cover price of 23.69 for 55p
Obviously I would never buy packs of wildflower seeds for 2.65 or marmande toms for 1.59, or even pumpkins for grandchildren for 2.19 but at 5p a pop it is worth a go
May not be worth a journey, but if you are going by take a look in

Parsnip and onions could be a bit dodgy, but if they are in foil packets go for it. I will be having a look tomorrow. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

You may find you don't get 100% germination, only 95% - but at 5p !!!0 -

Yes, except maybe as stated, and probably good for many more springs to come. I still use & geminate tomato seed I bought in 1989, first opened in 2006 and cropped well, sown again this year and so far so good [ Suttons Tornado FWIW]When an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
I have kept tomato seeds for several years. They seem to be one of the easiest seeds to germinate and kept in a foil packet that is firmly folded over again after use, they shouldn't be a problem. . Parsnip is the real problem one and this really does need to be fresh every year and I also find carrot seeds need to be quite fresh. But as you say, at 5p you can't really go wrong, unless you count sowing them and then waiting to discover that they don't germinate and having lost a fortnight or so, you have to start again.0
