anyone had private IVF done?

hi

stupid question.

we are looking at doing the IVF in private after trying for long! we will have it done in private (having had NHS earlier). we are not too familiar with health system here so just want to check. if we have it done in private, do we have to go private for care during pregnancy and delivery or can that be done on NHS?

thanks

Nope if you pay privately for IVF then you can have the care & birth on the NHS, assuming that you're entitled to receive free care

You can get NHS care once you are pregnant no problem.

I paid private for my Ivf and they looked after me when I eventually fell till I was 12 weeks pregnant then I continued my care with the Nhs, we could have carried on private if we wanted but we had faith in the Nhs.

As well as my delivery/care being NHS my GP also prescribed the drugs on the NHS, I just paid for the procedure.

    Good luck!

How'd you swing that one FatVonD? I just about have got my GP to pay for my blood tests before my treatment (would have been £500 private :() but that was a real arm twister. Would love to get the drugs paid for!
