Willows Farm Village, at London Colney near St Albans, is celebrating its fifth birthday with a packed programme of events for the summer.

Its Summer Spectacular runs from July 21 until September 2 and highlights include traditional sports day games, the A-maize-ing Maze, Bird-o-batics falconry displays, Sheepstakes sheep racing, Daft Duck Trials and Farmyard Ferret Fun.

Visitors will also be able to learn about Willows Farm Village's ten different breeds of sheep in the famous Willows Sheep Show.

Willows Farm Village is bustling with farmyard animals including sheep, goats and pigs, plus more than 300 guinea pigs in their very own village.

There is also a special animal nursery where children can meet proud mums and their newborns in Willow's own maternity wing. It is also home to some unusual animals from distant lands, including playful chipmunks, bouncing wallabies, and even reindeer!

The farm village also offers an array of activities for energetic youngsters including Leaping Lily Pads trampolines, Tractor Trek, Tree House Adventure, new Build and Play, panning for gold and an under 5s outdoor play area.

Children can also enjoy fairground rides, children's shows and board Tristan the Runaway Tractor trailer ride who will delight all with his tales of farmyard life.

Willows Farm also has a Farm Shop which is packed full of foodie delights to help capture the sweet tastes of summer.

For barbeques, Willow's master butcher has a wide range of top quality meats, including rib-eye steaks, as well as more unusual meats such as ostrich and kangaroo burgers, and specialist sausages, including wild boar and apple and chicken & apricot.

For dessert, try Criterion Ices from Suffolk whose 15 flavours include delectable vintage marmalade and cinnamon and honey.

Willows supports reducing food miles and is proud to sell seasonal fruit and vegetables from many local suppliers.

As well as being a haven for food lovers, Willows Farm Shop also stocks a wide range of beautiful gifts, including children's toys.

Willows Farm and Willows Farm Shop are located on Coursers Road, just off junction 22 of the M25 near London Colney.

Opening Times: Farm Shop 10am until 5pm Entrance to the Farm Shop is free. Farm Village 10.00am until 5.30am.

Entry costs: for Farm Village vary throughout the year but during Summer spectacular (July 21 - September 2) admission is £10.95 for adults and £9.95 for children, with under twos free.

Annual passes start at £39.50 for children and offer: unlimited entry, fast track entry on bank holidays and during busy times, three information-packed newsletters a year, invites to two exclusive annual pass member events, special offers and discounts including ten per cent discount on children's birthday parties, a complimentary gift every winter.
