The T&Cs are pretty easy to find.
It's poor service indeed but sadly I don't think you've got much of a leg to stand on.0 -

You sent an item not covered by their insurance.
so you sent it at your risk.
They provided the service. Could you define well packaged?0 -

As far as I am concerned, they never fulfilled the service adequately.
The item was in it's original packaging, original box with fully polystyrene supports (one at each end and on front and back). Rest of the box was filled with polystyrene peanuts so there was no free space.
Which isn't sufficient packaging. An item like that needs at least an outer box with packaging materials.
Parcelforce can use your own argument right back at you. you didn't fulfil your own side of the bargain by ensuring your item was covered and suitable for their service.
There's a reason why these types of items are excluded from cover.0 -

Why isnt it sufficient packaging, its most likely how the manufacturer would have sent it out.it did have an outer box
I do agree that the OP doesnt have a case for a refund, but I have seen how parcels are thrown,if it had been handled normally it wouldnt have broken given the packaging it was in0 -

The manufacturer would have them all stacked on a palet and wrapped, not an individual monitor. The box it comes in wouldn't be classed as an outer box, to send an individual monitor it would need the original box plus a sturdy outer box to take any impact. It should also be marked as fragile.0 -
I have had items delivered to me direct from the manufacturer/stores that have not come in an outer packaging but they have been delivered by courier and not Royal Mail.
OP I would have thought that an item like this would have been better sent(and cheaper) by courier?
I very rarely use Royal Mail for parcels.0 -

Parcelforce is a courier?0 -
I have to agree with what has already been said. There is a reason why they do not cover these items, it is because there is a high risk of damage.0
