my son lost his wallet with bank card and licence in it. someone has found it and phoned his bank and told them they had found the wallet with bank card and had it cancelled. is there a number on back of drivers licence to ring if someone has found it.

Has your son checked with the bank that the card is cancelled. If not he should cancel it himself immediately .
Could be a kind person out there, but it is an old trick for someone to find a card and then contact the loser saying they are the bank and it has been cancelled.

There is no number on the back of a licence,(paper one at least), to phone DVLA, however you should report it to the police as lost/stolen as I think it is a legal requirement.

For DVLA use 01792 782341 (driver enquiries), switchboard, only open Mon-Fri 0815-1630

    Or 01792 782882, Mon-Fri 0800-1700

Plenty more numbers on the "saynoto0870 site"
