New Monitor Required - Best Place To Buy?

This morning my monitor made a loud pop. It could have been caused by my PC, I don't know, but it frightened the living daylights out of me
I'm scared of it now. If it was my PC, I have a backup old PC, but no spare monitor, so want to purchase a new one, as cheap as poss!
Can stretch to £100. What's best, who is best and where is best?
Thanks

£100 will get you a 17" LCD screen.
Have a look at places like www.dabs.com.
Here some stuff that a quick search on Dabs yielded

Make sure to check what connectors are on the back of the monitor and your computer's graphics card. Older computers use a VGA plug:
and newer ones use DVI:

Thanks, will take a look at Dabs.
Looks like a VGA connection for my oldish machine, I hope that makes monitors cheaper!0 -
Try Misco as well, they often have very good deals

scan.co.uk, ebuyer.com are also good prices.
Once you've found a model you like check it with froogle.co.uk and see who's cheapest.
I got a 19" Belinea LCD for £120 from ebuyer.0 -

Thanks, will check them out. Used eBuyer before and got quick delivery.
Just one question, if the monitor connection is right (VGA), I shouldn't have any other compatibility worries?0 -
Even if the connector isn't right you can get adapters, so it wouldn't be a disaster if you got the wrong sort at a very good price. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

Thanks.
I've had this monitor for 6 years and it's one of those old white blocks and the screen is just 13".
Even a half decent TFT will be much better - I only use PC for Internet and odd letter etc, so no gaming.0 -
Try this one, seems like a good buy
