default debt paid will this restart the length of time on credit file

Options
hi everyone.

hopefully an easy one to answer. Whilst checking my credit file i noticed a small default of 32£ from an address i previously lived at
i have contacted the company and paid it off right away. The default had been on my account since November 2009. Will this restart the time on my account or will the default be removed after the standard period.

sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've. Searched high and low for an answer.

many thanks in advance.

No it won't restart it, it will come off your report in November 2015 assuming this is the date of the default (i.e. 6 years after the default was registered). If it is a different date of default, it will come off 6 years from then.

Good that you've settled it too :)
  • ah fantastic just the answer i wanted to hear! You certainly go by your name....boss answer :)
