Just looked at credit file in more detail and can see me and hubby have been over limits quite a few times between 2012/2013 on visa's, only by a small amount and always paid off well over min. Paid everything off jan this year, just wondering on how this would look on mortgage app, and how long clear before it will have less impact?

Once they're 2-3 years old, you shouldn't have much of an issue I wouldn't think.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.0
