    They are endowment policies and they had to have a minimum of 10 years to meet qualifying status.

    So pay in £5200 and get back £6400.

    At least they've not lost money although not a great return.
    Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

    ok. so putting in 5200 and 4750 is guaranteed? i am investing in friendly societies, but generally with monthly investments which then provide a guaranteed return which is above the total to be invested.
