British Gas EnergySmart Energy Monitor - Battery Replacement

Has anyone successfully replaced the battery in the Sensor unit for the British Gas EnergySmart Enegry Monitor device, and got the thing working again afterwards?
I've bought a brand new CR2 battery and installed it, but the green LED on the sensor is now flashing constantly, and the display unit is not registering anything. I just get flashing dashes across the display - the same as when the sensor it out of range.
The unit was working perfectly until the battery expired, so I'm pretty sure nothing is actually faulty. I'm guessing the sensor and the display unit just need to be "paired" again, but I can't see any way to achieve this.
Thanks in advance!

I have e-mailed them, but I'm likely to get a much faster and more useful response here. I can't face the 30-minute "Have you turned it on, sir?" conversation over the phone.0 -
any info here that might help http://www.britishgas.co.uk/help-and-advice/Tariffs-add-ons/EnergySmart/EnergySmart-display-monitor/How-do-I-set-up-my-new-electricity-monitor.htmlNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

Sadly not. The info on the web site is basically exactly the same as that given in the paper documentation I received with the unit, and doesn't cover any kind of reset procedures, or detailed battery replacement instructions. I can't find a way to get back to the initial "Find" stage (i.e. factory default), which I believe may be what's required.0 -
Have you had a good look at the meter and transmitter units to see if there are any holes or buttons to push paper clips or stuff into to reset or re-pair the devices - look carefully in the battery compartment.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

I eventually got a reply from British Gas on this.
You have to hold down the bottom button on the display unit while pressing the top button four times.
This resets the display unit to the "Find" mode, and within a few seconds it starts responding to the transmitter unit and displays the current reading.
Why they couldn't put this information in the user manual and the Web site is a mystery.0
